2021 Nissan Ariya: A Futuristic Electric Crossover
Having become a huge success, Lexus is now all set to roll out the very futuristic 2021 Nissan Ariya. The EVS (Electric Vehicle Segment) has been advancing at a rapid rate around the world, and Nissan took the right step by launching the Leaf a few years earlier. This has been designed in line with the Ariya prototype displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2019. Several aspects of modern Japanese design have been integrated here.
Available Variants:
6 two tone paint jobs and 3 full-color shades are available to add a lot of style. A major highlight here is the Copper and Black two tone color, which is the shade to signify Akatsuki, a period prior to the crack of dawn. One can purchase the Ariya in three variants, namely S, SV, and SL.
Outside:
The Ariya looks straight out of a movie made 20 years into the future, especially due to the Kumiko 3D pattern grille at the front. A rear light bar helps to accentuate the appearance of All Wheel Drive (AWD) SUV further.
Nissan’s front logo has been created with the help of 20 LED lights, and showcases many sharp edges. The headlights are very slim, and one can see the angular front end that is typically modern. In fact, users will find it to be more futuristic than Mercedes EQC, Audi e-tron, and other top draw vehicles.
LED daytime running lamps look good on the 2021 Nissan Ariya. Though it is an EV, the Nissan signature V-Motion grille still stands out in the front. The car stands tall on either 19 inch or 20 inch wheels here.
Engine Details and Performance:
For an electric crossover the Ariya is pretty fast, touching 0-60 in 5 seconds. Buyers will get to see the following engine options:
- 215 hp of power and 221 lb-ft of torque.
- 388 hp of power and 443 lb-ft of torque.
Front Wheel Drive (FWD) or AWD will be available on the vehicle. Even battery packs may be generating either 63 kWh or 87 kWh. The company claims that the larger pack will have a massive range of 300 miles.
If the AWD is made available, Nissan will bring a twin motor AWD system called e-4ORCE. Expect Regenerative Braking technology to capture energy released during braking.
Inside:
Japanese influenced styling is visible inside the vehicle. Several controls on the inside are integrated into the touchscreen, due to which the dashboard has minimal buttons. The center console is customizable and can be saved within the driver’s profile, like seating positions.
The 2021 Nissan Ariya is a comfortable 5-seater Crossover SUV. The Japanese manufacturer has been generous with storage, providing thoughtful bits like a tray for laptops and a box below the center instrument panel. Called as Zero Gravity seats, they produce a lot of legroom for front and rear seat passengers.
The revolutionary design on the Ariya’s EV platform has enabled engineers to free up cabin space in many ways. One of which is putting the climate control system below the hood.
Available Safety Features:
The Ariya comes with Nissan’s ProPilot Assist 2-0 suite, which will have the given safety and security technologies:
- Emergency Braking.
- Lane Centering.
- Forward Collision Warning.
- Driving through stop-and-go traffic.
- Intelligent Around View Monitor.
- Maintain vehicle speed as per upcoming road conditions.
